I remember snacking on these delicious disks of sweet and tart saltiness. Seasoned oyster crackers were one of my favorite snacks growing up, and I only got them on special occasions. They are amazingly easy to make and perfect for big family dinners, potlucks, grill outs or a just because snack. The recipe is easy and also makes a great cooking lesson for younger kids thanks to simple measurements and lots of bag shaking. My kids have a blast with it!
Here’s how it’s made
16 to 20 ounces of oyster crackers
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning (or a 1 ounce packet of seasoning mix)
1/2 tsp dill weed
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Add the crackers and vegetable oil to a gallon sized zip lock bag and shake until well coated. Add the remaining ingredients and shake the bag again until well coated. Spread crackers on a baking sheet in single layer and put in the oven for 15 minutes, stirring crackers once during baking. Cool crackers and enjoy!
